CHANGE

 

January 21 - March 1

Opening Reception: Friday, January 23, 6:00-9:00

 

Gallery Project presents Change, an exhibit encouraging artists to comment visually on features of America that they feel need altering for the good of society. The exhibit opens on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 and runs through Sunday, March 1. The opening reception is Friday, January 23 from 6-9.

 

The exhibit’s focus is on system change broadly conceived. It includes relationships between people, government, work organizations, churches, educational institutions, and physical environments. The exhibit is about improving systems which drive our current lives and the course of America’s future.

 

Artists featured in the exhibit include Peter Williams from Delaware; Takeshi Moro from Tokyo; Nick Sousanis and Joe Namy from New York City; Nicole Marroquin from Chicago; Heather Elliott-Famularo and Murray McKay from Bowling Green, Ohio; Jef Bourgeau, Goody, Erin Moran, Royal Schroll, Dick Goody from the Detroit area, Adrian Blackwell and Jane Hutton from Toronto, Paul Marquardt from Kalamazoo; Cynthia Foley from Cadillac; and Frank Paul, Terri Sarris, Brenda Olebaum, Cynthia Foley, Jen Locke, Michael Nagara, and Leah Bult from Ann Arbor.

 

The exhibit is curated by Gloria Pritschet and Rocco DePietro, co-founders and co-directors of Gallery Project.

 

Gallery Project is a fine art collaborative. Its mission is to provide a venue for contemporary art that is culturally aware, individualistic, courageous, and thought provoking. Gallery Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is located at 215 South Fourth Avenue in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Fall and Winter gallery hours are: Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 6, Friday and Saturday, noon to 9, and Sunday, noon to 4. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
